Our Treatment Philosophy

We love working with patients in need of a different approach. The "difficult” cases. People who have tried other paths without success. These patients find their way to Integrative Motion PT because we make them feel heard and understood — and most importantly, our methods actually make a difference. We take the time to understand how their physical needs and lifestyle work together. We work with the musculoskeletal system as well as the nervous system, clarifying the mysteries around what brings each individual to healthy, lasting homeostasis. Our dedicated, intuitive, and body-mind philosophy of care gets to the true root of the issue, and rebuilds resilience from a strong foundation to help prevent future recurrence.

What to expect:

We begin with an initial session, which includes both a physical therapy exam and conversation to ensure we are the right fit for one another.

Once we're comfortable that it feels mutually good to move forward, Amy guides you through specific tests (functional movement analysis, strength testing, joint mobility testing, and neurodynamic testing) to assess how all components and systems are working together.

From there, treatment methods will be highly individualized to address your unique situation, symptoms, and healing progression. Your therapy will include the following key steps.

Identify the root issue — whether it's a clear presentation or something deeper — holistically assessing movement, strength, posture, and alignment

Educate patients with information about why they are experiencing the issue

Address what's causing symptoms, injury, discomfort, or movement irregularities — creating opportunities for the body to heal itself

Strengthen, limber, and build resilience against future recurrence

Empower patients with approachable tools to influence their own healing — from reducing acute symptoms to supporting whole-body care

Provide ongoing guidance, support, and careful reassessment

"I listen to your story about your body and history of injury or injuries.”

In that conversation, I also take the time to learn about your individual motivations and what your goals are for working with Integrative Motion PT. I meet you where you are, adapting my treatment style and techniques to best meet your goals.

My philosophy is to first resolve pain by addressing the 'tissue(s) of issue' — i.e., joint, soft tissue, neuromuscular restriction of stiffness, or pathology.

Then, I educate my patients about what is causing their pain or dysfunction. I teach individual strategies for going through your daily routine in ways that promote optimal posture and reduce stress and strain on the body. We work on functional exercises to incorporate into your everyday activities. Additionally, I provide specific home exercise programs with therapeutic exercises to strengthen and stabilize.

We continue to reassess — How's your movement, strength, and stability? What about your comfort levels and your confidence? — as treatment progresses.

My ultimate goal is for you to understand both what caused the issue — and how YOU can help prevent it in the future."
